B-C-S students start Tuesday, Aug. 27th

The first day of school for students in Grades 1-12 for the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District will be Tuesday, Aug. 27. There will be no school on Monday, Aug. 26, due to the approval of the waiver day application by the Ohio Department of Education.

The school day for each of the three buildings has changed slightly from last school year. R.C. Waters Elementary School’s student day will be from 8:05 a.m. until 2:45 p.m.; Oak Harbor Middle School will be from 8 a.m. until 2:48 p.m. and Oak Harbor High School’s student day will be 8 a.m. until 2:40 p.m.  

Below is a revised B-C-S Schools Calendar that includes waiver days:

Aug. 27First day of school for students in grades 1-12 

Sept. 2No school–Labor Day

Oct. 17 & 18Waiver days (no school for students)

Oct. 25         End of 1st nine-week grading period 

Nov. 4  & 11Grades 4-12 parent/teacher conferences (3:15-6:45 p.m.)

Nov. 7 & 14Grades K-3 parent/teacher conferences (3:15-6:45 p.m.)

Nov. 27- 29No school–Thanksgiving holiday

Dec. 23-Jan. 3No school–winter vacation

 

Jan. 6Classes resume

Jan. 10End of 2nd nine-week grading period 

Jan. 20 No school–Martin Luther King Day 

 

Feb. 13Grades K-12 parent/teacher conferences (3:15-6:45 p.m.)

Feb. 14No school for students grades K-12,Parent/Teacher Conferences (8-11:30 a.m.)

Feb. 17 & 18No school for students–President’s Day & waiver day

 

March 21End of 3rd nine-week grading period 

March 24-28       No school- spring break

 

April 18 & 21No school–Easter vacation

April 22Classes Resume

 

May 26No school–Memorial Day

 

June 1Graduation–2 p.m.

June 4Last day of school for students–End of 4th grading period 

 

As required by Ohio Revised Code, if school must be closed due to extreme weather conditions or other circumstances, make-up days would begin June 4 and run Monday through Friday in June as needed.
