B-C-S Schools welcome new administrators

Cheryl Schell, Principal at Oak Harbor High School Students in the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District will be welcomed by two new dynamic and energetic building administrators on the first day of school, August 26. Schell brings more than 24 years of experience in the education profession to B-C-S as both a teacher and administrator.  Most recently, Mrs. Schell was assistant principal at Fremont Ross High School.  Cheryl Schell succeeds Keith Thorbahn who served for nine years as Principal of Oak Harbor High School. Thorbahn was promoted to serve as the district’s Director of Administrative Services, and assumed these duties in July.

Laramie Spurlock, Assistant Principal at Oak Harbor Middle School

Mr. Laramie Spurlock will take on the duties of Assistant Principal at Oak Harbor Middle School beginning in August.  Mr. Spurlock most recently served as Assistant Principal at Fremont Middle School.  Oak Harbor Middle School Principal Mrs. Marie Wittman describes Spurlock as an “experienced middle school assistant principal who brings many skills to the table, including a strong curriculum background.”  

Spurlock is very impressed by Oak Harbor Middle School and looks forward to joining the team and working with students, staff, and parents. Spurlock looks forward to joining the dynamic staff at Oak Harbor Middle School to help increase student achievement and ensure student well-being. Spurlock succeeds Mr. Don Christie who took an administrative position with Perrysburg Schools.
