Danbury Middle School participated in the Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week. According to the code.org the Hour of Code is an opportunity for every student to try computer science for one hour. During Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 9-15), code.org is making history and recruiting 10 million to join in and do the Hour of Code. People are encouraged, young and old, to try their hand at computer programming at code.org.

Danbury Middle School has made a commitment to have all of its students be part of the millions around the world learning to write simple computer code. Every middle school student had an opportunity during the week to learn more about coding and write 100+ lines of code to solve a variety of puzzles. For students who are interested in continuing to code, additional opportunities will be available either independently or for some students it will be part of their regular computer classroom curriculum.
