Immaculate Conception School was honored to host the Toledo Symphony Percussion Trio “Grandparent” concert on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The trio of musicians relayed their love of music to the children and families at ICS.  .

The members of the Percussion Ensemble group treated the crowd to a variety of percussion instruments from around the world. Their international repertoire includes music ranging from American Ragtime to traditional African and Mexican Folk. The students and friends at Immaculate Conception gained a great knowledge of how different percussion instruments are made and different ways of playing the same instrument.  Several students were even able to participate in the concert by playing a percussion instrument in the final number.

The Musical Arts Series at Firelands presented the Toledo Symphony Percussion Trio.  This event was sponsored by a grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation.  Immaculate Conception wishes to thank all involved for choosing ICS and making such a wonderful morning possible, including the Toledo Symphony Percussion Trio, the Musical Arts Series at Firelands, the Ottawa County Community Foundation, Home Instead, and especially Retired Pastor Bob Butcher , President of the Firelands Musical Arts Council.

The Musical Arts Series at Firelands is offering many more concerts in the upcoming months at Firelands Presbyterian Church. The concerts are $15 and children are welcome and free. For a full concert schedule, call the church at 419.734.6211.
